File Submission Guidelines
Here's a brief summary of our art submission guidelines. For more details, click here, or refer to industry guidelines for production ready artwork.
- We use Windows computers. If you use a Mac, please save your files to Windows-compatible formats and media, and name files with the appropriate extension for the file type.
- Convert all fonts to outlines/paths
- Submit vector artwork, not bitmaps.
- CorelDRAW (.CDR) files are preferred
- Adobe Illustrator (.AI version 10) or Encapsulated Postscript (.EPS) files are acceptable
- Bitmap images (TIFF, JPEG, BMP, GIF) are generally useful only as a reference "sketch". Although we can use bitmaps in some processes (such as creating embroidery tapes), the artwork usually must be recreated in a vector format before it can be used.
- Avoid halftones, gradations, and process colors. Most of our printing processes work with simple spot colors. Some processes have limited support for halftones.
- Specify colors using Pantone Matching System (solid, uncoated)
- Multi-color silk screen print jobs require color separations. Where colors touch, lighter colors are printed first and should have a .08" spread beyond the edge of the darker color.
- Compress art files (using ZIP compression) to reduce size.
- Submit files using one of the following methods:
- E-mail to artist@oatesflag.com
- Send files on CD, DVD, 100Mb Iomega Zip disk, or 3.5" floppy disk to:
